The Giro d’Italia represents much more than a sporting event: it is a true travelling festival that unites the Italian peninsula, showcasing to millions of television viewers around the world the landscape beauty, history, and cultural excellence of Italy’s regions.
Stage 11 of the 2024 Giro d’Italia featured our city as one of its main highlights. The race, which had not passed through Francavilla al Mare for 20 years, sparked enthusiasm and strong participation from the entire community, eager to experience the excitement of the cycling competition.
The finish line of the “pink race,” set up on the beautiful and evocative F. P. Tosti seafront promenade, saw the city respond with an incredible turnout. The local committee and the public filled the Abruzzo coastline with festive colours from the early morning hours, celebrating the arrival of the “pink caravan” in a stunning setting of sun and sea.
