Macondo – Festival delle Narrazioni returns to Francavilla al Mare for an extraordinary three-day programme of events in Piazza Sirena, transforming the town into a lively stage dedicated to the world of writing. An unmissable event bringing together major national and international literary guests, the finalists of the Premio Strega, with the only Abruzzo stop on the “Strega Tour”, a fair dedicated to independent publishing, evocative food trails where flavours and literature come together, and engaging writing and reading courses.
A festival designed to be much more than a literary review: a shared experience, capable of moving audiences, introducing new voices and creating a direct dialogue with those who write books and live them every day.
Conceived by the writer Peppe Millanta and organised by the Municipality of Francavilla al Mare in collaboration with Scuola Macondo in Pescara, the festival celebrates the art of storytelling in all its forms, from books to theatre and live encounters, and has now become a key cultural event, reaching its fifth edition.
From 19 to 21 June 2026, Macondo will open Francavilla al Mare’s cultural summer season, with guests including Piergiorgio Pulixi and Enrico Mentana, as well as theatre performances, including one by Roberto Mercadini.
