Inaugurated on 3 July 2025, Il Ponte della Marina is a cycle and pedestrian bridge over the Alento river, a work of modern engineering that makes it possible to connect the seafront between Francavilla and Pescara without any detours inland.
Designed to blend into its urban setting, the structure can be used by pedestrians and cyclists and was conceived to occupy as little land as possible, with optimised structural performance and strong iconic value for the marina area.
From the new bridge, visitors can admire the coastline as far as the nearby Pontile Sirena, the hillside up to Paese Alto, and enjoy the sunset from a unique perspective.
